New Delhi, Dec 5: The Smart Messaging App Google Allo has introduced Hindi language in its chat services. The Hindi language option will now be available in ‘Google Assistant’, which comes with the Google Allo and also in the ‘Smart Reply’ feature of the app.
With the introduction of this new feature, the Google Allo users may now seek aid and get response from Goggle Assistant in Hindi. Also, they can talk to their near and dear ones in Hindi with the help of machine learning algorithms. The new features will be available to the Android and iOS users from Monday to the other devices soon. This new initiative is taken with a motive to cater to the millions of non-English speakers and to make them use the chatting app.
Amit Fulay, Group Product Manager, Google on the occasion of the launch of this additional feature said, “Since its launch, Google Allo has received tremendous response, especially in India, which has one of the highest number of Google Allo users. He added, “The Google Assistant, in particular, is one of the most loved features in Google Allo - one in every 12 messages in group chats are messages to the Google Assistant. We are enthused by this and today's launch enables us to extend these features to the next millions of users in a language of their choice."
Google Allo started its services firstly in India in September this year and then was made available to the users in other countries. The app was designed to keep it India-friendly or to suit the chatty nature of the Indians and earlier enabled users to message in English and Hinglish. Google in its Make for India event, earlier this year, had made the announcement of rolling out the Assistant in the Allo in Hindi.
The advanced messenger of Google Allo allows users to express themselves in a better way with stickers, doodles, huge Emojis and texts. There is a Google Assistant for helping to add relevant videos, images directions, in the conversation and sharing with friends. The Smart Reply helps in sending instant replies by predicting and suggesting text and Emojis based on users’ personality.
In order to talk inside Google Assistant in Hindi, one needs to type “Talk to me in Hindi” or simply change the language preference setting on the device used. People using the feature may chat with Assistant one-on-one or simply type “@google” to make use of the Assistant without leaving the conversation inside any group chat.
The other automatic and innovative feature called Smart Reply would show suggestions in Hindi, if we start chatting in that language.
Again, if it detects the English language in the mid conversation, it will adjust itself accordingly and people can say what they want in a single tap without bothering to instruct for the change of language. The added Hindi capability of Allo is also smart enough to understand Hindi texts in images which are exchanged in chats, according to Google.
