Lenovo owned Motorola has been going really strong over the past few weeks with its range of diverse flagships, where each device caters to different sections of targeted consumers. The latest buzz now states that Motorola is launching its Moto Z and Moto Z Play in India, which would be available on sale on two of India’s leading ecommerce websites – Amazon and Flipkart. The sale is to commence from October 17 at 11:59PM.
For those unaware, Motorola had officially launched its Moto Z series devcies in India on October 4. Moto Z will be priced Rs. 39,999 while the Moto Z Play would be available for Rs. 24,999.
Let us have a look at the two models.
Moto Z
Of the two variants, Moto Z happens to be the first-class model. It has a military aircraft-grade aluminium cover along with water resistant nano-coating on its rear side, with stainless steel frame. It features 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display backed by Gorilla Glass Shield. It has Pixel density 535 ppi (pixels per inch). It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor Quad-core CPU + Motorola Mobile Computing System, which includes the Natural Language Processor and Contextual Computing Processor. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and has Adreno 530 GPU.
For storage, it comes with RAM of 4GB and internal memory of 32GB/64GB (UFS), which is expandable up to 2TB. Talking of camera, the device has 13MP main camera which has features like Laser Autofocus, Zero Shutter Lag, ƒ/1.8 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), flash with dual LEDs,1.12um pixel,, Professional mode, Color Correlated Temperature (CCT), Quick Capture, Google Photos integration, Shutter button, 8X digital zoom, Night mode, Auto HDR, Tap to focus & exposure, 1080p HD video (60 fps), Slow Motion video, and Video HDR (1080p and 4K).
The device comes with a 5 MP selfie camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, Flash, 1.4um big pixel for improved low light, Wide-Angle lens, Auto Night mode, Beautification software, and Professional mode. It supports the 4G-LTE, and includes extra features such as fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v4.1 LE, A-GPS, and 4 mics.
It houses a 2600 mAh battery which the company claims can last up to 30 hours under mixed use. It also has TurboPower technology, which as claimed can give up to 8 hours of power in 15 minutes of charging. The device weighs 136g, and measures 153.3 x 75.3 x 5.19 mm. It is available in black with lunar grey trim, black front lens and white with gold colors.
Moto Z Play
This variant comes with 5.5-inch super AMOLED full HD (1920x1080p) display, pixel density: 403 ppi (pixels per inch). Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, it sports 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core CPU with Motorola Mobile Computing System, Natural Language Processor and Contextual Computing Processor. It has Adreno 506 GPU.
At the storage front, the device has 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, and internal memory of 32GB, which is further expandable up to 2TB.
Talking of the camera, the device sports a 16MP camera which has Laser auto-focus, ƒ / 2.0 aperture, 1.3um pixel size, Phase detection autofocus (PDAF), Zero Shutter Lag, Professional Mode, Quick Capture, Color balancing dual LED flash, Best Shot Tap, 4X digital zoom, Panorama, Drag to focus & exposure, Burst mode, Auto HDR, Video Stabilization, 720p (120fps), 1080p (30fps), 4K (30fps) and Slow Motion video.
As for selfies, the device sports 5MP camera which has Wide-Angle 85-degree lens, ƒ / 2.2 aperture, Flash, Beautification software, Auto Night mode, and Professional mode.
Moto Z Play comes with a 3510 mAh battery which the company claims can last for 50 hours under mixed use. It also has the TurboPower that offers up to 9 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging The device supports 4G-LTE, and had additional features like the Single Nano-SIM/Dual-SIM slots, Fingerprint sensor, water-repellant nano-coating, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi , Type C USB port, A-GPS, Front-ported earpiece, loudspeaker and 3 Mics.
It measures 156.4 x 76.4 x 6.99 mm, and weighs 165g. The device is available in black, silver black, slate white, fine gold, and sugar white.
