Mi Note 2, an upcoming flagship from Xiaomi, has been in news for all good reasons. Ever since the announcement of the Mi Note 2, we have been coming across various features and specifications of this striking device.
Buzz now states that Xiaomi has decided to organize an even in China, which will be held on October 25. Reports state that this day will mark the grand launch of the Mi Note 2.
In the past few months, we have laid our hands on many leaked pictures, features and speculations of the device as well as its launch. And after such long wait, we finally know as to when Mi Note 2 will make its grand entry in the market. However, before we head further, it is also to note that recent leaked information about the smartphone has stated that it has an all top display, devoice of any sensor or front camera on top. Now this apparently makes the Mi Note2 a completely different smartphone from what we have been seeing in the market of late.
While these are the new speculations, buzz also states that the device will not be coming with dual edge display as was reported earlier in the past.
About The Launch & Expectations
Sources say that Xiaomi will host the launch event at the Peking University Gymnasium on October 25, and we will have the Mi Note successor launched amidst much fanfare. Furthermore, Xiaomi has even declared that Hong Kong-based actor Tony Leung will be the host for the event.
Coming back to the speculations leaked so far; a new set of images that were found on Weibo website state that Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with very thin bezel on its edges. Interestingly, the device doesn’t sport the bottom chin which is generally used for navigation buttons, nor does it has the top sensors and the front camera. In place of these, the all new Mi Note 2 leaked images suggest that the device comes with edge-to-edge display. From the images that have been leaked, one can also make out that the Mi Note 2 runs the MIUI OS, which apparently adds to its credibility.
However, these images do oppose preceding leaks that contemplated about the Mi Note 2 featuring dual-edge display. But one important thing to note here is that these leaked photos cover the device from the front only, thus one can still believe the dual camera stuff to be a thing for real.
One can also note that originally, Mi Note 2 was anticipated to release on a number of occasions all the way through the second part of the year, the most recent being September 14. But it never happened, nor did one get any update about the smartphone. It was Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun who happened to reignite the launch stating that Mi Note 2 launch will bring in a lot of surprises for the users.
Speculated Features
Among the other features, excluding the rumored display; the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC. The device as heard will sport 3600mAh battery. It's estimated to have two speaker grilles at the base. The fingerprint sensor for the device would be present at the front. Last but not least, the all new Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is anticipated to have different variants based on storage. One can anticipate the device to arrive in the variations of 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, plus 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
The 64GB variant would be priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 25,000) while the 128GB model would cost CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 28,000).
Let us now wait for the launch to happen, and get to know what all features will the Mi Note 2 exactly come up with.
