Mumbai: MSG 2 - The Messenger, released in around 2000 screens received a massive opening weekend box office response. The film collected 14.2 crores on the opening day that included 3.60 crores from paid preview. And on Saturday and Sunday it raked in 28.31 crores bringing up the opening weekend total to 42.51 crores.

Mr Ajay Dhamija, spokesperson for Hakikat entertainment Pvt Ltd said that the company is very pleased with the weekend opening as these were only the Hindi belt figures from India and added confidently, “There is a worldwide scope for MSG's brand of positive cinema. We are now rolling our Tamil, Telugu, English and an impressive overseas campaign. We are sure of a strong positive reception worldwide.”
Screens across cities and towns saw houseful signboards on over 40 screens and 75 shows on Sunday as requests continued to pour from more screens and for more shows to the Hakikat office which is abuzz with activity.
MSG2 was released by Hakikat entertainment worldwide on 18th September.
