Contestants to showcase the finest International dance styles to good ol' Bollywood Chartbusters
This Sunday on 9th August, Dance India Dance Season 5 has plans to take you across the globe by presenting a showcase of the most popular international dance styles. The TOP 13 contestants have already proved their prowess in different forms in the past four weeks but this Sunday, DID 5 will go completely international and the contestants will enthrall the audiences with pure international dance forms. And what's more... you will feel completely at home with these dance forms as they will be performed to your very own Bollywood chartbusters!
Ashish and Pronita, now popularly known as #AshNita from team Punit Ke Panthers, will take the audiences to the country of Cuba and will sizzle on stage with a sensual Rumba on the early 90's hit romantic track 'Hothon Pe Bass Tera Naam Hai' from Yeh Dillagi. The two have floored the audiences together with their romantic and sensual duets in the past with performances on the songs 'sun saathiya' and 'ang laga le' and this episode they come back again to set the stage on fire with their amazing chemistry and perfect moves. Saahil and Nirmal, from Gaiti Ke Gangsters will give the ballroom style Samba a desi tadka as they perform on the popular track 'Chikni Kamar pe teri'. Nepal boy Nirmal, dressed as a mermaid in a bright red dress, took everybody by surprise as he did not just look like an elegant mermaid but also moved and swayed like one. Their comical yet flawless Samba won them accolades from the audiences and masters alike. To get into the character, Nirmal had to get rid of his beard, moustache and even get his arms and legs waxed and he shared how his respect for women has gone notches higher after experiencing what most women go through every month to look pretty.
The superhit trio from Punit Ke Panthers - Haroon, Sadhvi and Pankaj brought the rich and ancient Egyptian world alive with their act on the song 'afreen afreen' as Sadhvi, dressed as Cleopatra, mesmerized even the sculptures with her beauty, compelling them to dance with her. The trio danced effortlessly and presented immaculate postures and lifts and even fused robotics to give it a different flavour. Master Mudassar with his team members Anuradha and Saddam will make the audiences take a direct flight from Egypt to America and present another ballroom dance form Lyndi Hop. The dance form which is the original Swing dance, was beautifully executed by Anuradha and Saddam as they jumped, hopped and moved from one corner of the stage to another with vigour on the high tempo track 'Battameez dil'. Saddam, who comes from a very humble background had never had the opportunity to learn dance or formally train. So, his timing and precision and willingness to do something new every time has won him appreciation from not just the masters but also Grandmaster Mithun Da.
So this week get ready to jet set and travel around the world and witness the various dance forms in just one hour!
