Masaba Gupta's Art-Inspired Printed Creations Were Totally "On Your Mark" At LFW WF 2015
Mumbai, 29 August, 2015: Known for her unconventional print stories each season, Masaba Gupta's art-inspired tales comprised stylish brush strokes for her collection called “On Your Mark”, which was a refreshing presentation at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015.
There was a certain fluidity and grace in the ensembles with a hint of playfulness and flowing clean lines, which were inspired by a horse's prowess, gait and dynamism.
Adding splendour to the collection, Masaba visualised water colour splashes and chalk accents that seem to blend beautifully with the languid brush strokes. Working around the ever popular and classic colour chart of red, mustard, white and black, the fusion silhouettes formed the extreme highlights of the collection.
The indentifying abstract prints were the horses face and the starting blocks on the race track. Detailing came in the form of elegant drapes and structures that have been a forte with Masaba for many seasons.
Some of the highlights of the show were will-powered long tubes, one- shoulder flared tiny tops teamed with soft easy cropped pants, relaxed deconstructed coat, and asymmetric shirts that gave the collection an easy vibe.
The white tiered maxi with bib front also appeared in a print; while the hip length white coat had a stark almost medical look.
An interesting entry was the front tie maxi shirt, baby doll poncho dress and cape with tulle pants. A slight shimmer came in for a wrap maxi; while a pencil skirt with a printed double hem jacket and the belted coat/pants duo offered a variety of fashion options. The few saris were unconventionally displayed with fitted dresses or mini skirts and blouses.
The show stopper for this complete ladies collection was the latest heartthrob, new comer Sooraj Pancholi star of the soon-to-be released blockbuster movie “Hero” who made his first ever solo appearance on the ramp. Looking every inch a hero, handsome and dapper Sooraj strutted confidently in a black and white printed jacket with a two button tab closure, white shirt and dark trousers.
Want a wardrobe that will make any lady the focus of attention wherever and whenever she goes? Check out Masaba Gupta's brush strokes collection that is inspired by magnificent art pieces and be fashionably “On Your Mark”.
