Mumbai, 26th August 2015: If fashion weeks were to convey words of social importance Salita Nanda showcased playful elegance with her quirky line of street style garments at Jabong Stage during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2015. The fashion icon and inspiration behind this collection titled 'Youthquake' was Edie Sedgwick, Andy Warhol's muse who was at the helm of the 'Youthquake Movement' during the 1960's.
Pushing her creativity to the edge, Salita Nanda conceived an effortless, feminine collection for the young ladies of today's generation. The garments are designed for a woman who confidently embraces vivid prints, surface ornamentation and colour palettes, while appreciating the value of artisanal craft, with each piece being a style statement.
Revealing her distinct style with fluid silhouettes, Salita Nanda's breathtaking collection comprised sheer cropped tops with skirts and capes, rolling into abstract prints in sequins, pausing at bold monochrome striped blazers and capes, finishing up with light coloured flowers adhered to flowing silhouettes. The one garment that stood out was a sheer double layered cropped top with a calf length pencil skirt fastened with powder coloured flowers.
Functional in form and uber in fashion, Salita Nanda's 'Youthquake'; soft and stylish ready-to-wear collection left one spellbound.
