MUMBAI, June 18, 2015: The real life bonding between the stars of Second Hand Husband is as good as their bonding on screen. Our Desi Rockstar Gippy Grewal took his leading lady Tina Ahuja - Govinda's daughter making her debut in the film - to his homeland Punjab and shared all his childhood memories and all-time favourites, from food to sites.
Their bonding on the trip is reminiscent of the terrific chemistry Gippy and Tina share in Second Hand Husband, a quirky family comedy about marriages, divorces and everything in the middle, co-starring Dharmendra, Rati Agnihotri, Ravi Kishan, Geeta Basra, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz.
The awesome twosome travelled to Amritsar yesterday and Tina got a real flavour of Punjab thanks to Gippy. First they went to the Golden Temple in Amritsar where they sought blessings. Next stop in the city was a local dhaba. Both Gippy and Tina are huge foodies and they had a great time polishing off the tasty grub.
And then came Tina's favourite part of the trip - Gippy took her shopping! Among other things, he got her Punjabi juttis, bringing the widest of smiles on Tina's face. It was one of the best trips Tina has ever had and couldn't thank Gippy enough. "Now that I think about it, if I didn't debut in Second Hand Husband, I might not have ever had this amazing Punjab tour," says Tina. "I can't wait to come back again... for the food, for the music and for all the love."
It was special for Gippy too. "I am so glad I could share my homeland with Tina," he smiles. "Punjab has so much warmth and affection for everyone and Tina got a taste of that."
Adds Second Hand Husband's producer Amolak Singh Gakhal: "Punjab is an important territory for us, since Gippy has a huge fan following here. The way the people responded to our visit, I'm sure they would come to watch - and love - the film."
Directed by Smeep Kang and produced by Gakhal Brothers Entertainment, the film's music is available on Zee Music and the film releases on July 3, 2015.
