Series is in preparation for the FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final (Men)
New Delhi, 30 April 2015: Hockey India today announced the Indian Men team for the upcoming India Japan Series scheduled in Bhubaneswar from 3-9 May 2015. The Preparatory Camp for the series which commenced on 22nd April 2015 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi got over today, 30 April 2015.
The team is leaving for Bhubaneswar on 01 May 2015.The series will be in preparation of the all important upcoming FIH Hockey World League Semi-Final (Men) scheduled in June this year.
Post finishing third in the recent 24th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, the team will be looking a series win against Japan in the upcoming tournament.
Speaking on the team, Head Coach Mr Paul van Ass said, “The team looks confident ahead of the upcoming tournament. They are on a high post their third place finish at the 25th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and the team will aim for a series win. The team has worked on the various aspects including starting the game with speed and putting the initial pressure and to keep the attack going in the final minutes of the game.”
