Dengue Menace :SDMC to take strict action against Institutions

Chairman of Standing Committee Rajesh Gehlot and Leader of House Subhash Arya seeing an alarming rise in the number of Dengue cases decided to cancel the holidays of DBC (Domestic Breeding checkers) workers and start intensive fogging in its areas in the morning as well as in evening from 6 to 8 o’clock.

It has been decided to increase them with immediate effect. We are also deploying more manpower for fumigation and doubling the number of medicines used to control dengue.

Rajesh Gehlot said that we have asked all govt. and private hospitals to update the corporation about the patients admitted in their hospitals due to dengue and also directed all HoDs of Government, autonomous and Educational Institutes to follow preventive measures against Dengue in their offices and Institutions. And also spread information and awareness about dengue among their employees.

Arya added that during the intensive checking of breeding of aedes mosquitoes , SDMC is taking strict action against Govt. Institutions, Private Offices and houses which includes issuing challans and legal notices. He said under Delhi Municipal Corporation (Malaria and Other Vector Borne Diseases) Bye laws, 1975 there are provision for strict actions.

Leader of House Subash Arya said that Corporation is trying its level best to combat the spread of this deadly disease Dengue. He also appealed to the citizens to co operate and take the following measures like water in desert coolers should be drained out immediately and they should be scrubbed and kept dry.In the coolers that can not be emptied, put one tablespoon of petrol/kerosene/temephos granules once in a week.
