Indian-American Physicians to hold 8th Global health Summit in 2014

Noted Physicians from an influential body of Indian American medical practitioners "Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI)" plans to hold its 8th annual Global Healthcare Summit (GHS) 2014 at Ahmedabad from Jan 2-4, 2014.

Eminent specialists will lead workshops on advances in resuscitation, endoscopy skills, gastroenterology, surgery, oncology, diabetes, cardiology, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, and robotic and laparoscopic technology at the summit.

The meet offers a unique forum for them to come together, sharing their knowledge and expertise in their respective medical fields with their fellow physicians from around the world, and to learn from one another, according to AAPI.

AAPI has been engaged in harnessing the power of Indian Diaspora to bring the most innovative, efficient, cost effective healthcare solutions to India, said AAPI president Jayesh Shah.

For the first time, clinical practice workshops will be held at this summit. Expected to draw over 1000 leading experts from several countries, the summit will focus on sharing best practices, developing efficient and cost effective solutions for India.

"The workshop on global advances in resuscitation and on the need to introduce mandatory resuscitation course curriculum in Indian medical colleges is designed to address the global crisis of increasing morbidity and mortality due to heart attacks and strokes," said Vemuri S. The team of panellists from USA and India will discuss the recent evidence-based advances in resuscitation science to enhance the quality of global health, with specific focus on India."
