10 year little girl from Bangalore 'Anjana Padmanabhan' claimed the first "Indian Idol Junior" title with her melodious voice in a star studded grand finale in Mumbai Sunday.
The little wonder mesmerized the audiences with her versatile signing and received the honour of getting the winner's award from megastar Amitabh Bachchan and to add more to the magical moment of her life she made her acceptance speech in Hindi even though she does not know Hindi.
"Maine yeh expect nahin kiya tha. Main bahut khush hun," she said after being adjudged the winner, based on audience voting.
Other celebrities present during the occasion were "Zanjeer" stars Priyanka Chopra and Ram Charan Teja and Shahid Kapoor, who made an appearance on the show to promote his upcoming film "Phata Poster Nikla Hero".
The "Indian Idol Junior" was even rocking with the blend of stars and rocking performances by judges Shreya Ghosal, who performed in the songs like "Sun raha hai na tu" from "Aashiqui 2" and "Itni si hansi" from Barfi, while Vishal-Shekhar accompanied her for "Radha" and "Ooh la la".
The final performance was of the top four contestants who paid a tribute to Amitabh by singing some of his hit numbers, including "Yeh mera dil", " Ab toh hai tumse", "Dekha na haye re".
Anjana as the "Indian Idol Junior", she went back home with a trophy, a cash prize of Rs.25 lakh and a Nissan Micra car.
She was also gifted cheques of Rs.500,000 and Rs.200,000 from Kotak Mahindra and Horlicks, respectively.
