Star Trek fame TV and film actor Michael Ansara dies at 91
Michael Ansara, who was a renowned television actor as well as movie actor died at an age of 91 following a long illness at his home in Calabasas, California.
Ansara is best known for his famous of Klingon leader Commando Kang on "Star Trek". Later he also plyead the same role in the next series 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' and 'Star Trek: Voyager.'
His famous roles as an actor includes Cochise in the American television series Broken Arrow, Kane in the Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Commander, Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Buckhart on the NBC series, Law of the Plainsman, and providing the voice for Mr. Freeze in Batman: The Animated Series and several of its spin-offs.
Michael Ansara in his early life wanted to become a physician but his inclination towards acting increased after he started to take acting classes in order to overcome his shyness. His first appearance in a film was seen in 1944 thriller 'Action in Arabia.'
Later he was seen in many films besides TV series which includes names like "Julius Caesar," "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," "The Greatest Story Ever Told" and "The Comancheros".
Born on April 15, 1922 in a small village of Syria, Ansara along with his family moved to United States at the age of 2. After living at Lowell, Massachusetts, for a decade, they migrated to California.
