Story:
In the 1990s, rebels in the south LTTE rise in power demanding a separate state. Their leader Anna Bhaskaran was determined to use any means to get what they wanted or deserved.
Government on the other hand was not ready to kneel in front of him and was not ready to create a separate state.
LTTE then decides to assassinate a politician makes a plan. There communication is intercepted by Research and Analysis Wing. They then send one of their officers Vikram Singh at Jaffna, the hub of LLTTE to find out more.
Vikram after reaching here tries to unsolved the mystery and stop the undesirable from happening.
What happens before and after the assassination of India's ex-prime Minister is the story of Madras Cafe.
Review:
The story of Madras Cafe is superbly told and director Shoojit Sircar has managed to potray the 90s era impeccably. Story being inspired by real events cannot go wrong and Shoojit has made sure that it doesn't.
John as Vikram Singh is superb. He actually has acted. Whether it's his production house or his movies, John is now selecting good scripts.
Nargis Fakhri as a BBC journalist is the only weak link in the movie.
Editing direction, soundtrack and all other aspects of movie are synchronized perfectly to make a good movie.
Over all if you are craving for an action packed thriller movie and also want to know a little about history, go and watch Madras Cafe.
