The story of Madras Cafe inspired by real events is very strong and tells the real incidents that occurred just before the 1991 assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. It tells how RAW works, how the rebels think and what happened that day.

With the looks of Shoojit Sircar has tried hard and found success in creating the era and the situation that were present in south during early 90s.
