Defending Champion Andy Murray will play as third seed in the US Open after his ranking dropped, while number 1 seed has been given to World No.1 Novak Djokovic.
According to the Mirror, Murray's win at Flushing Meadows 12 months ago led him win major titles including Olympic gold, reach the Australian Open final and claim a Wimbledon crown.
Moreover, seven-time Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer has been ranked no.7 seed after in the tournament as he dropped in the rankings recently.
French Open champion Rafael Nadal will play as the second seed while his compatriot David Ferrer has been given the fourth seed.
