Pakistani troops once again violated the ceasefire in the Jammu and Kashmir border and fired at Indian posts, an army spokesman said Thursday.
The firing took place in Mendhar sector on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch between 12.10 a.m. to 1 a.m on Wednesday. to which the Indian Army retaliated in the same way, the spokesman told IANS.
The Pakistani troop used small and light automatic weapons, medium machine guns and mortars for the attack.
"Our troops responded in the same manner," the spokesman said.
Moreover, the Indian Army had noticed suspicious movement in Poonch along the LoC, dividing Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
India has blamed Pakistan for continuous violation of the 2003 ceasefire along the LoC and the international border in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier on Aug 6, five Indian soldiers were killed after Pakistani troops entered into Poonch region and ambushed an army patrol before escaping.
