Broken Heart can result into death from heart attack

A recent study has revealed that the death of a loved one, overexcitement while watching match or a broken heart can lead to heart attack.

The research carried at the Heart Foundation suggested that earthquakes, terror attacks and missile strikes can also trigger a heart attack, News.com.au reported.

In addition to that, living isolated with very few social contacts is also a key factor and having few social contacts is also a key risk factor for a heart attack.

However, the research apprehends the myth that continuous job stress abruptly increases the likelihood of having a heart attack.

The study reviewed the reports of last 10 years' major heart research and developed this paper on psychosocial risk factors for heart disease.

The research also found that there was a hike of 40 percent in death from heart attacks in sad people in the first six months after the death.

In addition to that, severe emotional stress such as bereavement was also linked to a heart problem called takotsubo cardiomyopathy in which the muscles of heart contract into an hour glass shape causing chest pain and affects heart function.

Moreover, Professor Tatoulis said this type of heart problem was usually common among women aged 45-65 who were subjected to acute stress, but it usually resolved over 4-8 weeks.
