Star cast: Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Prachi Desai
Director: K. S. Ravikumar
After Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar, watch out another Super-cop Sanjay Dutt in his latest release 'Ploicegiri' as a thundering police inspector but this time he is not just a good-cop in public interest but a combination of police and goon. Yes, you are being introduced to Deputy Commissioner of Police Rudra Aditya Devraj (Sanjay Dutt) this time.
But 'Ploicegiri' is neither 'Singham' or 'Dabangg', which would entertain you rather you will get more irritated with the unusual action sequences which are needless to say show you the touch of Kollywood.
Rudra is a tough and strict DCP of a small town Amalapur in Hyderabad. He is an inveterate crime-fighter and applies situational approach to root-out crime and even don't hesitate to take bribe when needed. But the ultimate aim of this super-cop is to weed out the local mafia completely who are involved in spreading corruption and crime in the city.
Sehar (Prachi Desai), who lives next door to Rudra is allured by the manhood of DCP and falls in love with him and finally marries him. Nagori Subramaniyam (Prakash Raj) is an underworld don who is the propagator of crime in the city and Rudra has the intention to eradicate his empire from the roots.
The story follows lots of action sequences, dialogues and uninteresting comic scenes too but ultimately fails to impress in any part of 145 minutes drama.
Kollywood director KS Ravikumar is with Policegiri is making debut in Bollywood, which is the remake of Kollywood's 2003 hit Saamy but could prove himself worth at all.
The only thing that will persuade audience to watch the film is presence of Sanjay Dutt and his power packed dialogue delivery and lastly the sympathy in the hearts of Sanjay Dutt's fans.
