"White House Down is a brilliantly knitted story with superb acting by rising star Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx. If you are looking for an action movie this weekend, White House Down can be real fun."
Story:
The story of White House Down starts with U.S. President James Sawyer proposing a peace treaty in the Middle East, which includes withdrawing of troops from the area.
John Cale is a U.S. Capitol Police officer assigned to Speaker of the House Eli Raphelson. He wants to become a part of Secret Service so that he can impress her daughter Emily. He comes for an interview and finds that it is being taken by her college acquaintance Carol Finnerty. Finnerty thinks that Cale doesn’t deserve the job and rejects his application.
Cale then lies to her daughter about the job and takes her to an already planned tour of White House. This trip of their changes everything.
White House comes under attack and the attacker kills almost every secret service officer. President Sawyer survives the attack somehow and hides. Cale also gets separated from her daughter. Her daughter is the part of people who gets abducted for ransom. Cale in his quest to save daughter also helps the President and kills the attackers one by one.
Review:
Like his previous movies Roland Emmerich has directed this movie superbly and has blown up various building even the White House. He has gone to great lengths to display the actual parts of the city.
Channing Tantum is the rising star and has performed action in the movie superbly. He fights the terrorists, jumps out of the window, drives the limousines with great efficiency.
Jamie Fox as a president is good but not impressive. Maggie Gyllenhaal has not much to do in her small roles. Jason Clarke has performed the role of an antagonist brilliantly.
Direction, cinematography, background music and editing are good. If you are looking for an action packed adventure this weekend White House Down is for you.
