"Whoever has watched Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is praising it. Every aspect of the movie whether it is acting, its story, directing, editing or cinematography, is more than perfect. It is a movie that one must take time out of their busy schedule and go watch".
Story:
The story of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag starts in 1960s where Milkha Singh fails to win any medal in Rome Olympics.
The story goes backward in time where just before Rome Olympics there is a friendly tournament between India and Pakistan which Milkha refuses to attend. Here Milkha's coach tells the story of his past and takes the story in Flash back
During the India-Pakistan partition, little Milkha witnesses brutal murder of his entire family except for his elder sister Isri. Here his dyeing father says Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (to save his life). This trauma makes a deep mark in the mind of little Milkha that changes his entire life.
He joins the Indian army in a third attempt and it is here that his running talent for some reasons comes to light. After joining the services, he gives more time and training to running and takes part in various tournaments around the world.
Review:
Film is 3 hours long, yes three hours long, but not for a single minute you will feel that any part of film is exaggerated. Film is a master piece and the accolade goes collectively to director Rakeysh Omprakash, Prasun Joshi and cinematographer Binod Pradhan.
Film perfectly takes you to 1960s and the sets the environment very smoothly. There is nothing to show off. Film is simple yet amazing. It's because of the story, story of a hero. It seems as if the story of Milkha Singh was waiting to be told by somebody and boy did it landed into right hands.
There are not enough words to describe the acting of Farhan Akhtar. He has lived and breathed Milkha. Farhan has run, stumbled and fell like him. Not a single hair is out of stray.
Sonam in her little role ahs look beautiful. Her simplicity is much better than her diva status. So has Divya, her eyes speaks a lot and she is actually an amazing actress.
Unlike other biopic movies or movies inspired by true events, this film is entertaining and keeps you on your feet whole time. It is not just “a movie”, it is a movie that everyone should take time to go watch in theatres.
