The special MCOCA court will hear the fresh bail petition filed by cricketer S. Sreesanth today on Friday. Sreesanth was charged with MCOCA following his involvement spot-fixing scandal in IPL6.
Earlier, this week Sreesanth's lawyer filed a fresh bail application after the Delhi Police on Tuesday invoked MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) against him.Sreesanth along with his Rajasthan Royal team mates Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila was arrested on May 16 and are in judicial custody till June 18 along with the other accused.
The other accused includes Jiju Janardhan, Deepak Kumar, Manan Bhat, Chandresh Patel, Ramakant Aggarwal, Rakesh, Sunil Bhatia, Kiran Dole, Ashwani Aggarwal, Mohd Yahya, Ajay Goel, Love Garg, Amit Gupta, Bhupender Nagar, Sunil Saxena, Sayed Durez Ahmed, bouncer Vikash Chowdhury and businessmen Vinod Sharma and Nitin Jain.
The police had earlier told the court that it was investigating the angle of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in the case and said that interception of various phone calls suggested that several other big names might be involved in the scandal as calls were made to Dawood.
The police had said there are some missing links and they are working on it.
