Sonam Nair directorial Gippi is all set to release this Friday May 10 and a lot has been talked about the innocence of the film prior to its release. With Gippi, producer Karan Johar has stepped into making low budget cinema as he has always been known for making big budget films.

Gippi is a story of an ordinary 14 year school girl 'Gippi', who is overweight and faces many problems due to her obese figure. She faces many awkward and embarrassing moments due to her weight at her school but as the film proceeds she gradually starts loving herself and recognizes her identity.

Gippi lives in Shimla with her mother Pappi and little brother Booboo. She is a back bencher at her school and always intimated by popular queen-bee Shamira.. In the mean while she falls in love with an older guy, who breaks her heart and embarrasses her by humiliating publicly. Since then, Gippi decides to leave her life fearlessly in her own condition and accepts Shamira's challenge to stand against her in the school elections.

Gippi had a great experience of life during the coarse of election and she finds herself in true sense.

Moreover, Gippi is a common story that is faced by number of school going students and the movie shows how an ordinary girl find her potential and makes her special to everyone.

Gippi is full of innocence and expected to pull the crowd to cinema halls with its sweet and innocent story and Riya Vij's superb acting as Gippi.
