Need to bring various health care systems on a single platform: Dr. Walia

Dr. A.K.Walia, Hon'ble Minister (Health & Family Welfare) Govt. of NCT Delhi has said that there is need of integration of all forms of medical sciences for obtaining holistic health & appreciated the effort of Health Dept. for bringing various health care systems on a single platform. He was addressing ‘National Seminar and Workshop on integrated approach for Holistic Health’ organized at Maulana Azad Medical College auditorium in New Delhi.

On the occasion, speakers highlighted the the need of the hour, the seminar-cum-workshop brought various disciplines like Allopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Home remedies, Mental health, Unani, Homeopathy and Allied therapies (like physiotherapy, laughter therapy, etc) of health care on single platform where the participants got acquainted with the various health care techniques & practices useful for promotion of health care as well as prevention & curative aspect of Diseases.

Seminar was conducted on both the days in 8 sessions on Promotive & Preventive aspects for Holistic Health as well as Integrative approach towards management of Life style disorders & Session on Naturopathy & Yoga. On 2nd day workshop was conducted on Mental & Emotional Health by demonstrating some useful practices like emotional freedom techniques and mindfulness.

In the session on Integrative approach towards management of Life style disorders and panel discussion, 30 renowned Experts from all systems of medicines from all over India delivered lectures on various aspects of Holistic health and on the possible methods of integrating strengths of various systems of medicines and health care as a whole. All the experts expressed the need of giving more importance to prevention of diseases rather than the conventional trend of disease treatment
