Story:
Nautanki Saala story revolves around three characters Ram Parmar, Nandini Patel and Mandar Lele.
Ram is a moderately successful theatre actor-director who accidentally comes across a person Mandar Lele who is trying to commit suicide. Ram saves him and takes him back to his home. He then decides to help this desperate man.
They slowly become friend and face the ups and downs of life together.
What Ram slowly realizes is that rehabilitation is not that simple and in this competitive life, one has to do whatever he must to survive.
What happens to their friendship and how they live life is the story of Nautanki Saala.
Review:
Rohan Sippy is a master. His direction and handling of the film deserves kudos. He shows a person's depression, love, and emotions so perfectly and blend them together to keep you entertained.
Story of the movie is sweet, simple and different, revolving around friendship, love and struggle of life.
There are times when an actor gets a hit on his/her debut then fades away but Ayushmann is no such actor. He plays the role of do-gooder Ram Parmar so perfectly that you will forget his previous role in Vicky Donor. Then out of nowhere he shows his villanious side in the film as well.
Kunaal has done an impressive role as well. He plays the role of a depressed guy very well and still is able to make you laugh.
Let's face it, there are very rare occasion that a good model is a good actor too, Pooja is not one of the good actor. She has no expression whatsoever and is the only negative pint in the movie.
So one more time, Nautanki Saala is must-must watch.
