Himmatwala: Public Review
Sajid Khan's directorial remake of 1983 hit 'Himmatwala' got mixed response from the audiences with a decent start at the box office on its first day of release on Friday, March 29.
Earlier, the charismatic Sridevi said, though 'Himmatwala' was no "Mughal-e-Azam", but still turned to be a career making film for her. Now, after 30 years when the film was remade by Sajid Khan starring Ajay devgan and Tamannah Bhatia, the charm of original Himmatwala's Sridevi was missing somehow. Though, he looks pretty and commendable and cannot be ignored and it will be not justified to compare her with ravishing Sridevi from her first movie. However, Ajay Devgan as usual kept his expectations alive with some power blended dialogues and performance.
Paresh Rawal as Narayan Das is just a treat to watch again with his superb acting. Earlier, the role was played by Kader Khan, which is unforgettable and Paresh Rawal kept the magic alive again. Director Mahesh Manjerkar is fabulous to watch.
The comic sequences in the movie will surely make you laugh in some parts and you will watch some breathtaking action sequences in the movie. The songs were again the point of attraction for the movie and are much liked by the viewers. The movie was released on more than 3000 screens across the country and collected more than 10 crores on it's first day of release.
"Though, the new Himmatwala is somehow lacking in some parts from the original one but still the movie is good to watch and can be said as a paisa wasool. The role of Ajay Devgan as Ravi is commendable and Tamannah in the role of Sridevi is quite impressive and has tried to justify the movie. The songs have been again beautifully picturized and sounds great", said a viewer after watching the movie.
