Priyadarshan, known for his excellence in movie making is back this time with "Rangrezz", based on friendship, love and trust but failed to create the onscreen effect this time as the viewers have already watched lots more in this regard earlier that includes classics like "Dil Chahta hai", "Rang De Basanti" and recently "Kai Po Che".
Starring Jackky Bhagnani (Rishi), Amitosh Nagpal (Vinu) and Vijay Verma (as Pakya), Rangrezz is a story of three friends leading a simple life in the city of Mumbai with their respective dreams and each of them having different characters. Things were going fine for them with a joyous life but the story takes a twist when Rishi's childhood pal Joy tries to kill himself over a girl.
Following the suicide attempt of their friend all three promises themselves to help him to recover by abducting the lover boy's girl and the story moves on. Though, the movie has some extreme sentimental sequences that will certainly leave you overwhelming.
Talking about the performances, Jackky Bhagnani as Rishi has improved quite well in comparison to his last onscreen appearances and has played the role of a protagonist quite well but stills lacks in some parts due to his ineffective and low appealing screen appearance. Though, some dramatic sequences as well as action stunts keeps him alive in the script. Amitosh Nagpal as Vinu is ok with his role as a simpleton but could not impress while Vijay Verma as Pakya is ahead of both and is really impressive with is tapori role with his colloquial language dialogue delivery and nascent works. Rajpal Yadav, though is not one of the lead roles in the movie is quite good as usual but the director fails to utilize his potential fully in the movie.
Altogether, 'Rangrezz' has a good script and could prove as an eye opner for the youths but due to lack of big star cast, the message that the director wanted to deliver to the audiences fails somewhere.
