Oscar 2013: List of all 85th Academy Award winners

Prestigious 85th Academy Awards (Oscar 2013) were declared on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in the Los Angeles, California. Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy fame) hosted the Academy Awards for the first time.

US First Lady Michelle Obama announced the best film winner via a video-conference from White House.

All Hollywood actors and actress came at the gala night to witness the most prestigious award ceremony of movies.

Here is the list of all 85th Academy Award winners:

Best Film: Argo

Ben Affleck's directorial venture Argo won the Best Film. Co-producers Grant Heslov, Ben Affleck and George Clooney - collected the trophy.

9 films who were nominated for this category: Amour, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty.

Best Director: Ang Lee

Life of Pi has won Ang Lee his second Oscar trophy for Best Director.

Others who were vying for the best director's trophy included Steven Spielberg (Lincoln), Michael Haneke (Amour), Benh Zeitlin (Beasts of the Southern Wild) and David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook).

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln)

Daniel Day-Lewis won the best actor for his role of President Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's film Lincoln.

Other nominees for best actor trophy were Bradley Cooper, Hugh Jackman, Joaquin Phoenix, Denzel Washington.

Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook)

Jennifer Lawrence won the best actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

The nominations for best actress category were Jessica Chastain, Emmanuelle Riva, Quvenzhane Wallis and Naomi Watts.

Best Foreign Language Film: Amour

Austrian drama Amour, Directed by Michael Haneke bagged the prestigious Oscar award for the Best Foreign Language film.

Amour was competing with Kon-Tiki (Norway), No (Chile), A Royal Affair (Denmark) and War Witch (Canada).

Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained)

Christoph Waltz picked up the best supporting actor trophy for Django Unchained.

He pipped Alan Arkin (Argo), Robert De Niro (Silver Linings Playbook), Philip Seymour Hoffman (The Master) and Tommy Lee Jones (Lincoln).

Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables)

Anne Hathaway walked away with best actress in a supporting role Oscar for Les Miserables.

Other actresses vying for the golden statuette were Amy Adams (The Master), Sally Field (Lincoln), Helen Hunt (The Sessions) and Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook).

Best Animated feature film: Brave

Directors Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman's Brave won the Best Animated feature film award piping Frankenweenie, ParaNorman, The Pirates! Band of Misfits and Wreck-It Ralph.

Best writing - Adapted screenplay: Chris Terrio (Argo)

Writer Chris Terrio won with the best writing - adapted screenplay award for Argo beating Lucy Alibar and Benh Zeitlin (Beasts of the Southern Wild), David Magee (Life of Pi), Tony Kushner (Lincoln) and David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook).

Best original screenplay: Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained)

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino won the best original screenplay for Django Unchained.

Others nominees in the category were Michael Haneke (Amour), John Gatins (Flight), Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola (Moonrise Kingdom) and Mark Boal (Zero Dark Thirty).

Best Cinematography: Life of Pi

Ang Lee's Life of Pi, a fantasy adventure drama widely shot in India, won the best cinematography trophy.

Best Music - Original Score: Mychael Danna (Life of Pi)

Oscar award for best music - original score went to Mychael Danna for Life of Pi.

Competitors for the award were Dario Marianelli (Anna Karenina), Alexandre Desplat (Argo), John Williams (Lincoln) and Thomas Newman (Skyfall).

Best Original Song: Adele (Skyfall)

British singer Adele won the Best Original Song award for here theme song of Skyfall.

Other nominees were Pi Lullaby from Life of PI (Written and sung by Jayashri), Before My Time from Chasing Ice (music and lyrics by J. Ralph), Everybody needs a best friend from Ted (music by Walter Murphy; lyrics by Seth MacFarlane) and Suddenly from Les Miserables (music by Claude-Michel Schonberg; lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil).

Best Sound Editing: Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers (Skyfall) and Paul N.J. Ottosson (Zero Dark Thirty)

Two films - Skyfall and Zero Dark Thirty shared the Best Sound Editing award. Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers picked the award for Skyfall, while Paul N.J. Ottosson received it for Zero Dark Thirty.

The other nominees in the sound-editing category were Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn (Argo), Wylie Stateman (Django Unchained) and Eugene Gearty and Philip Stockton (Life of Pi).

Best Sound Mixing: Andy Nelson, Mark Paterson and Simon Hayes (Les Miserables)

Andy Nelson, Mark Paterson and Simon Hayes came up on the stage to collect the Best Sound Mixing trophy for Les Miserables.

Other nominees were John Reitz, Gregg Rudloff and Jose Antonio Garcia (Argo), Ron Bartlett, D.M. Hemphill and Drew Kunin (Life of Pi), Andy Nelson, Gary Rydstrom and Ronald Judkins (Lincoln) and Scott Millan, Greg P. Russell and Stuart Wilson (Skyfall).

Best Visual Effects: Life of Pi

Life of Pi directed by Ang Lee won the best Visual Effects award.

Best achievement in Costume Design: Jacqueline Durran (Anna Karenina)

Jacqueline Durran bagged the best achievement in costume design for the film Anna Karenina.

Other nominations in this category were Paco Delgado (Les Miserables), Joanna Johnston (Lincoln), Eiko Ishioka (Mirror Mirror) and Colleen Atwood (Snow White and the Huntsman).

Best achievement in makeup and hairstyling: Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell (Les Miserables)

The best achievement in makeup and hairstyling went to Lisa Westcott and Julie Dartnell for Les Miserables.
