Kuhoo Garg and Chirag Sen, became youngest players to win a medal in 78th Senior National Badminton Championship at Siri Fort Stadium, New Delhi.
Kuhoo Garg and Chirag Sen are in the age category of under-16 and have made it to the Bronze Medal after beating 4th seeded players Rachita Sahdev and Abhinav Manota. Not only this they also beat the International medalist and IBL fame players Pranav Chopra and Manisha on their way to Bronze Medal.
They both hail from Uttarakhand and participated for the first time in Senior National Badminton Championship and won the Bronze Medal.
Miss Kuhoo Garg, is a recipient of Sports Scholarship from ONGC, has been selected for Indian Junior team and participated in Badminton Asia Youth U-19 Championships 2013 held at Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia from 07th to 14th July 2013, Badminton Asia Youth Championships under-17 held in Kudos, Indonesia from 08th to 13th Oct 2013 where she reached Quarter Finals.
She also participated in Junior World Championships 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand from 23rd October to 03rd November 2013. All her success despite the fact that she is still a teenager just 15 + years of age.
Shortly Kuhoo will join Pullela Gopichand’s Academy in Hyderabad for further training. She has left no stone unturned to attain perfection in her endeavour as a player and so follows a very strict regimen.
Kuhoo is a student of Class XIth in Sanskrit School, New Delhi and is the daughter of Shri Ashok Kumar, IPS (Inspector General, Administration), Border Security Force, New Delhi.
