"There is not much of a story in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. A fun-loving and care free boy falls in love with a passionate and strong-headed girl and then tries to win her back. But the way the story is told, with comic scenes, acting, father issues and village is a real time-pass".
Story and Review:
Sriram Venkat played by Imran is a care-free and fun-loving architect who does not care much about relationships, whether it is with his father, mother, friends or with a girl. Hence his family, especially his father thinks of him as a disappointment.
Somehow he meets with Dia Sharma (Kareena) a passionate and strong-headed activist and gets attracted to her. Now Dia is a complete opposite, she believes in order to bring a change in the society you need to step up and she is willing to go to any length to bring a change in the society.
But there relationship does not last long because of conflicting ideology and they break up. However, Sririam slowly realizes that he is not over Dia and has fallen in love with her.
From here things get complicated. After break-up, Dia has moved to village Jhumli in Gujarat, when Sriram finds out this, he decides to being her back at any cost and lands in Jhumli.
Dia refuses to return with him. Sriram realizes the only way to get her back is to help her in her work. But can he overcome road blocks of politics, corruption and villagers or his love for Dia is not that strong?
Sriram is a mirror image of our present generation residing in metro-cities, a care-free lad that just thinks of himself and does not care of society, country or family. Imran has portrayed this role superbly. Kareena is not that convincing in her role of an activist as she literally does not look like one.
Punit Malhotra has done a good job but fails to display the problems faced in a village in the exact way. Songs are already a hit among the mass.
Overall film is a time-pass movie and a welcome distraction from all the action movies that have been released or are coming up.
