Diwali, one of the most awaited and celebrated season of India is round the corner and people of having their own plans of celebrating the festive season of prosperity and light to make it ever special.

Eating and distributing sweets is a common tradition of Diwali which can't be missed up. But when it comes to health point of view, it is very important for the diabetic patients to take care of certain points in order to make your Diwali diabetic friendly. Here are some basic points which would certainly prove beneficial to avoid stimulation of diabetes during Diwali:

Try out natural sweeteners: Say 'NO' to artificial sweets as they are not at all friendly with diabetes patients. It is recommended to opt for natural sweeteners like dry fruits to avoid stimulation of diabetes and make your Diwali sweeter.

Cook in healthy oils: Cooking delicious foods on Diwali in an integral part of this festival and no one want to miss that. But cooking oily foods in cooking oil could be dangerous. So, cook your food in healthy oils like avocado or olive oil, which would keep your taste intact without any harmful effects.

Don't skip Exercise: No doubt, Diwali is a festival of relaxing but try not to skip your daily exercise in order to enjoy your festival to the fullest. Doing exercise for one hour in the morning keeps you fresh and running all the day.

Enjoy Sugar Free Sweets: If you are waiting to eat the delicious sweets of Diwali for a long time and can't avoid them, just opt for Sugar free sweets this season. There are a number of sweets available in the market which are especially made keeping in mind the diabetic patients and are sugar free. So, these are the best option for you to enjoy your favourite sweets without any fear.

Say NO to Alcohol: Diwali is a time of celebration and people often got out for parties and get-togethers. Avoid intake of alcohol during the parties as this might be harmful for the diabetic patients.

Drink bitter Juice: It is very common during Diwali that you can't resist sweets. So, you might take a piece of some sweets that can stimulate your blood sugar level. So, do not miss to drink a glass of bitter juices of bitter gourd or neem to balance sugar levels in the body.
