Mayor of South Delhi Ms. Savita Choudhary took an emergency meeting with the Commissioner, MHO and other senior official of Public Health Department. In the meeting Mayor directed the official to take immediate action to control dengue.
Mayor said that from now the location of fogging machines will be made available on the official website SDMC i.e. www.mcdonline.gov.in . She said we have increase fogging machine in all four zones but citizens are not able to take maximum benefit for them. With this step citizens will know whether fogging machine is available in their area are not.
Mayor said that Corporation has adequate medicines and machines to control dengue. We are providing sufficient budget to tackle this deadly disease dengue. She also directed the official to start special sanitation drive in sensitive areas.
Mayor directed the officials to ask all govt. and private hospitals to update the corporation about the patients admitted in their hospitals due to dengue and also directed all HoDs of Government, autonomous and Educational Institutes to follow preventive measures against Dengue in their offices and Institutions. And also spread information and awareness about dengue among their employees.
Mrs. Choudhary added that during the intensive checking of breeding of aedes mosquitoes ,SDMC should take strict action against Govt. Institutions, Private Offices and houses which includes issuing challans and legal notices. She said under Delhi Municipal Corporation (Malaria & Other Vector Borne Diseases) Bye laws, 1975 there are provision for strict actions.
