Actor-director Dinesh Thakur passed away in Mumbai today on Thursday after prolonged illness at the age of 65.
His colleague and close friend from the industry confired the news of his death and said said, "Dinesh Thakur passed away today morning. He was not keeping well since last three to four years," Raza told IANS.
Survived by actor-wife Prita Mathur, Thakur appeared in a series of characters in many Hindi films and was a successful screenwriter and storywriter. He is particularly known for writing the story and screenplay of 1978 film Ghar, which gave him the 1979 Filmfare best story award. He was also seen in popular television serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Thakur's last rites will be conducted Thursday at the Oshiwara crematorium around 4.30 pm.
