Directed by Rajan Khosa under the banner of Children's Film Society-India, Gattu is a story of small child who is very poor but his dreams are bigger. Gattu cant afford to go to school but always sees the slogan 'Truth with victory in the end' in the school where he lives.
Gattu works very hard in a scrap work area that belongs a person whom he calls his uncle. His uncle purchased him from his ill father few years ago. Gattu is highly imaginative and crazy for kite flying and wants to be in the top of kite flying but 'Kali' mysterious black kite that dominates the sky and if Gattu wants to win the forthcoming contest of kite flying then he will have to reach the uppermost place in town, and that would be the roof of his neighbouring school.
Now, Gattu enters the school for education but he had something else in his mind and he misleads the students and teachers to implement his own devious plans.
All the kids in the movie have done excellent job with their characters especially Mohammad Samad in the title role of Gattu.
Director Rajan Khosa must be appreciated for creating the innocence on the screen, which will take you to your childhood.
Sandesh Shandilya's ebullient songs and music brings has really done justice with this not-to-be-missed tale about coming of age.
