IPL 5 Kolkata Knight Riders take on Delhi Daredevils

In the second match of IPL 5, Kolkata Knight Riders will take on Delhi Daredevils at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at 20:00 IST on Thursday.

The clash is going to be interesting as captains of both the teams have played together for a fairly long period for Delhi Ranji Team, Team India and even Delhi Daredevils. But at the Eden Garden they will be leading rival squads.

As the IPL 4 was worst for daredevils as they finished last, fundamental changes have been made in the team. Eric Simons has replaced Greg Shipperd as a coach. Sehwag has more support in the batting order In the form of Mahela Jayawardene, Kevin Pietersen and David Warner but ironically none of these players will be available for this match as they are serving their national teams. Another Daredevils player New Zealander Ross Taylor is nursing a broken hand. Virender Sehwag can avail the services of West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell. The team has formidable pace battery in the form of Morne Morkel, Umesh Yadav and Kiwi Doug Bracewell but Coach Eric Simons is worried over its weak spin attack.

On the other side Kolkata Knight Riders seems fully prepared for a good start at Edens. Last year was best season for Kolkata Knight Riders as they made it to the knockout stage. The team led by Gautam Gambhir will try to better their past records.

Having players like Jacques Kallis, Brendom McCullum, Brett Lee, Eoin Morgan, Sunil Narine, Shakib al Hasan Yusuf Pathan, Manoj Tiwary and Iqbal Abdulla in the squad, skipper Gautam Gambhir will be looking for a winning start in their first match of IPL 2012.
