MCD trifurcation: Everything on track, says Delhi govt.

Amidst the hue and cry creating by Delhi state BJP on the crisis of trifurcation of MCD and its functioning, Delhli govt. has said that there is no gaps have been left in the process and everything is on track.

The Director of Local Bodies, R K Srivastava said that that all necessary administrative and personnel management issues relating to the three newly formed Municipal Corportions have been identified and addressed as per established administrative practices. No gaps have been left in the process.

Budgetary and financial management issues have been identified and are being addressed by the Delhi Government. Necessary arrangements are in place to make sure that the three Corporations start functioningproperly on due dates. The proposal for fixing the dates of holding the first meeting of respective Corporations has already been forwarded to the Honourable Lt. Governor of Delhi he added.

Srivastava further informed that the process of formation of three Municipal Corporations as per law is already complete. The elections have been held as per the provisions of the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Act 2011 and the results have been notified by the State Election Commission on April 18, 2012.

The North and South Delhi Municipal Corporations will function from the Dr SPM Civic Centre and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation will function from the DSIIDC building Patparganj.

It is noted that BJP has demanded Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram to hold the trifurcation issue as it was done in haste and difficult to implement on time.
