Veteran actor and Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, who is in Chennai to prepare for the opening ceremony of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season five has said that the city is his second home and he is surprised to see the progress in the city.
The Bollywood megastar will open the night Tuesday and will render a poem penned by Prasoon Joshi.
"In Chennai for IPL opening event...Chennai was almost second home...did so many films here - gracious, disciplined, humble people," Amitabh wrote on twitter.
"So much has changed since the 70's...development, infrastructure ... film making was a joy... great management, superior technology," he added in his tweet.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the opening ceremony of the IPL cricket tournament. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, there will also be performances by American pop icon Katy Perry, Indian dancing sensation Prabhu Deva, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and others.
