CBI to register General Singh's Complaint of Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Wednesday is likely to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Lt.General (Retd.) Tejinder Singh and others for allegedly offering a bribe of Rs.14-Crore to General V K Singh for clearing a tranche of 600 sub-standard Tatre trucks in 2010.

General Singh in March revealed this allegation that an army lobbyist in 2010 approached to him and offered a bribe of Rs.14-crore to permit a order to purchase 600 sub-standard all terrain Tetra Truck from Indian born British Businessman and promoter of Vectra company, Ravi Rishi.

According to General V K Singh, he had acknowledged Defence Minister in this regard who asked him to take appropriate action against the accused.

But, Army Chief did not take any action, as per report says but in an interview in March 2012, he revealed this fact that he was offered a bribe of Rs.14-Crore from an army lobbyist.

In a letter to Prime Minister and Defence Minister, he exposed the name of Lt.General Tejinder Singh as that lobbyist.

After publicly exposing this scam, Defence Minister has to order a CBI probe in this case. But CBI, on the other hand had said that it could not register any complaint in this regard, until it gets a written complaint from Army Chief and also the supporting evidences and documents regarding his complaint.

In this move, Army Chief, according to sources, Tuesday send a senior officer to CBI headquarter with the written complaint and supporting documents.

On the other hand, Lt. General Tejinder Singh moved to a Delhi Court and filled a defamation case against Army Chief and four others in this connection of alleged bribery case.
