Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has slammed the state Lokayukta and said that his demand for seeking the review of his recommendation was motivated and aimed at raking up the issues.
Dikshit told that there was no need to send his recommendation to the Lt. Governor to forward it to the president when President has already given her last word.
Dikshit said that Delhi Lokayuta thinks that he is above the authority of the president. The president is the last word, how can one challenge her authority.
She defended and justified her own statement and said she never quoted that we have 60,000 houses ready. It had been said that it will be build. Every one comes with a manifesto but not each one of them completed. These things are part of a process.
It is noted that in a recent report Lokayukta Justice (Retd.) Manmohar Sarin has sent a report to Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna in which he has sought a review of his earlier recommendations to the president to censure the chief minister for allegedly misrepresenting facts about reaciness of 60,000 low-cost flats ahead of the 2008 assembly polls. Sarin said that chief minister had stated that the above houses were ready for allotment but the fact was that they were not even built. (With Inputs from IANS)
