Let me decide when to retire says Sachin

New Delhi, Mon, 26 Mar 2012 NI Wire

On an interview to a Hindi news channel on Sunday, the batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar bore his silence over many things and said 'no one has the right to decide his retirement so let me decide when should I retire as no one was there to decide for me when I started playing cricket so, no one should even say about my retirement'. Those people who are giving their opinion for me to retire did not bring me to the team, he added.

Different people have different opinions and can never be always right so, I just listen them as a mere opinion. He said

On being asked upon the best compliment as a cricket he said "Being a part of the test team of Sir Don Bradman is the greatest compliment for me in my career."

I have got immense support and wishes from my supporters and fans in my entire career and still hope for the same. I am still enjoying my game committed to my game and the day my commitment will be reduced for the game than only I should think about my retirement.

On being asked about the 100th century and the defeat in the match he said that it not just a century, it took 23 years to achieve this. Though, the defeat was disappointing and no celebration took place in the dressing room.

Yes there was a pressure of 100th century on me as when to listen a single thing by every people you meet in a day, the pressure automatically builds in your mind to live up to their expectations. Though, I respect their wishes and hope I will not have to hear such a wish again from someone, he added.

When he was asked about playing in World Cup 2015, he said I am still in love with cricket and let's see what happens to World Cup 2015. The same question was asked to me after 2007 World Cup and was really tough to answer and again the situation is same. He said.

He also said that, it was India former coach John Wright who motivated him to achieve the admirable number of 100 centuries first.
