Further increase in the inflation Budget: BJP

New Delhi, Tue, 20 Mar 2012 NI Wire

Delhi State BJP president Vijendra Gupta has said that even after the assurances from the President of India, Prime Minister and Finance Minister that inflation will not rise further, it is again increasing. Government data the rate of inflation has gone up from 7.65 to 8.83. The Government has also indicated that the price of petrol will increase by Rs. 5/- per liter and diesel by Rs. 2/- per liter after the 31st March. After the budget 2012-13 the prices of vegetables, fruits and food grains have increased by 30%. This increase has further created problems for the people of Delhi.

For the people-consuming meet this budget has further increased their spending. The prices of egg, fishes, meet etc. have increased by 10.62%. The price of milk and milk products has increased by 15.76% and edible oil by 12.76%. The cost of house construction has increased by 30%. This has disappointed the people dreaming for their house in Delhi. Now it has become impossible for a common man to have a one-room house in Delhi.

The power supply companies of Delhi have also warned of further increase in the tariff. There is possibility that the power tariff will be increased from April with the connivance of Delhi Government. This hike will be in the name of power, purchase, adjustment and fuel surcharges. Power consumers have been demanding that the CAG of India should audit the accounts of power companies and only after that the Government should decide about increasing or decreasing the power tariff. Until the CAG completes the audit of the accounts of power companies, the DERC and Delhi Government should not allow tariff hike. If the CAG audits the accounts of the companies then it is expected that the uncontrolled power companies of Delhi will have to cut power tariff.
