In a bid to be more accessible, Delhi Police on Tuesday announced to launch an official website where women and children can file their complaints online.
Launching the website, National Commission of Women (NCW) Chairperson Mamta Sharma said this initiative of Special Police Unit Women and Children (SPUWC) should be replicated in all the states across country "so that a women at Panchayat and block level can also benefit from it."
"There are many laws and acts in our country but lack of implementation is the reason for problems faced by women", Sharma said.
She also stressed on making websites in local languages for making better communication.
Describing about "how can this website help to needy and distress women," Additional DCP SPUWC Suman Nalwa said that this website would help women in getting all the information about redressal and process of complaint filing at SPUWC.
"We are available on Facebook and Twitter also, you can contact us through any medium", added Nalwa.
