Here is another big news for birthday boy Salman Khan, his recently released film Dabangg 2 has entered the Rs.100 crore-club with collections amounting to Rs.100.78 crore in just 7 days.
This is Salman's 4th film to enter in 100 crore-club after Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011) and Ek Tha Tiger (2012).
The film released in over 3,500 screens across India Dec 21.
Dabangg 2 is the sequel of Dabangg, which was set in a village and had the rustic, rural flavor of Uttar Pradesh. The story of the sequel has shifted to a Kanpur city.
Dabangg 2 marks the debut of Arbaaz Khan as Director who is also reprising his role of Makhi Singh in the film. Film is made under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions.
Dilip Shukla has written Dabangg 2.
This year has been very lucky for Salman. Kabir Khan-directed Ek Tha Tiger was an Eid release and set the cash registers ringing, but "Dabangg 2" achieved this feat in spite of being a non-holiday release.
The film opened to a collection of Rs.21.10 crore and collected a whopping Rs.65.16 crore during the first three days.
