Barfi, the official entry of India to this year's Oscar has failed to qualify for the best foreign language film category for the 85th Academy Awards.
The latest Oscar shortlist was released in which Director Anurag Basu's film was not included.
Out of the 71 films that qualified for the Oscars from across the world, 9 have been short listed, which will further compete to make it to the final five nominations.
Barfi starring Ranbir Kapoor as a deaf and mute boy, Priyanka Chopra as an autistic girl and Ileana D' Cruz as the narrator earned rave reviews and enjoyed box office success. But many parts of the film were said to be copied from "The Noteboook" and few other Hollywood films.
