Screenwriter, actor, and director Amole Gupte has been selected as the new Chairman of Children's Film Society of India (CFSI). Amole will take over the reigns from Nandita Das.
Amole said, "It is about the agenda of Children's Film Society of India (CFSI), it is honourable to be part of it. I cannot doubt the qualities of it. Because I am very well connected with the children I will only try to carry it forward".
As he prepares to take on the responsibility of the CFSI chairperson, Gupte is all praise for Nandita and says she did a wonderful job during her tenure.
"I believe Nandita has done a wonderful job before. I hope to bring forth many more Gattus and Stanleys," he said.
Nandita has been the Chairperson of CFSI from 2009. CFSI produces children's films and various TV programs in various Indian languages. It was established in the year 1955.
Gupte is known for making critically acclaimed children-oriented films like "Taare Zameen Par" and "Stanley Ka Dabba".
