Yash Chopra was cremated in Mumbai at 3 p.m. here on Monday in the presence of his near and dear ones who were seen in with watery eyes. A hoard of friends, family, fans and well-wishers gathered at the place to pay their last respect to the veteran filmmaker.
Yash Chopra (80) died on Sunday evening following multi-organ failure.
Bollywood celebrities - Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Adnan Sami, Mukesh Bhatt, Preity Zinta, Anil Sharma, Pradeep Sarkar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Prateik, Manish Malhotra, Shreyas Talpade, Raj Kundra, Rohit Shetty, Satish Kaushik, Javed Akhtar, Kirron Kher, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Gauhar Khan - attended the last rites.
His body has been taken to the crematorium in an ambulance from Yash Raj Studios, where his body was kept overnight for people to pay their last respects.
Salman Khan, John Abraham, Manish Malhotra, Priyanka Chopra, Sonu Nigam, Amitabh Bachchan Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and many others paid their tribute at the YRF studio.
Yash Chopra is left with Pamela and two sons Aditya and Uday. He was the founder of YRF studio, distribution company Yash Raj Films and the Yash Raj production company.
His last directorial film was Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which is scheduled to release on November 13 on Diwali
