Story:

Story of SOTY takes place in St. Teresa, one of India's premier academic institutions. It has high reputation and present dean of this college is Yoginder Vasisht.

Rohan Nanda is son of rich businessmen Ashok Nanda. Ashok does not give any importance to his son's dream and Rohan has to take approval or most of the times do what his father tells him. Rohan being a rich kid with Ferrari, Mercedes and all is the heartthrob of all the girls of St. T's.

Shanaya Singhania is a girl who always wants to be stylish, in short a spoilt girl who worries more for her bag then a person. She is the childhood sweetheart of Rohan but when Abhimanyu enters in their life, she develops a hidden crush for him.

Abhimanyu is from a middle class family who wants to stay ahead and a top all the time. He is competitive, has a great body and is intelligent. From the time he enters he develops an enmity with Rohan, which later turns into friendship and then into war. He also has a secret crush on Shanaya.

Then comes the prestigious Student of the Year trophy competition, which has been held in St. Teresa for a decade. Rohan wants to win it to make sure he does one thing for himself and win over Abhimanyu while Abhimanyu wants to get it to be at top, to show he is better then Rohan and in hope that he somehow gets Shanaya out of it....!!

Review:

Have you seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, well if yes then ad a gay Dean and a trophy war, a rich father and remove the marriage stuff, wolla, you have the recipe of Student of the Year. You will even see Sana Saeed (Anjali who played Shahrukh and Rani's daughter in KKHH.

Karan has delivered what he is famous for, a larger then life film. Set in the picturesque locales of Dehradun, this film has been stuffed with almost all the ingredients.

Siddharth, Varun and Alia, all three have made a debut and all of them have justified their character.

Claps for Rishi Kapoor who has shown time and again that he can do justice to every character he plays. Ronit Roy and Ram Kapoor in their cameo role are perfect.

Though there is no story but in the midst of all the action and serious films that have released this year a romantic getaway with Student of the Year won't harm.
