A Bangalore based company, Digital Waves, has launched a new low-cost tablet , called the TabPlus Rio. Priced at Rs.11,990 this TabPlus Rio tablet runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.
The new features and specification of TabPlus Rio comes with a 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor, 512 MB of DDR2 RAM. It has a 7 inch screen with storage up to 32GB via Micro SD. Lately, we have been seeing an upsurge of Android phones in India, with several local manufacturers rolling out devices at affordable rates.
The TabPlus Rio supports Flash 11 for streaming videos. It has a support for Wi-fi connection and 3G, thus you can connect high speed Internet without worrying for configuration. The device has a 4-side G-Sensor, thus we can use it for gaming. With this device, we have an access to more than 300,000 applications. With a weight of 350 grams, it is not too heavy by tablet standards.
TabPlus Rio has a VGA front-facing camera that proves to be useful for video chat. The resolution of 800x480 means excellent picture quality for images and videos. It supports video formats like MPEG-1 \ 2 \ 4, H.264, H.263, WMV9, MOV, and MKV. You can pug in HDMI to play the video on your TV for a larger display.
