'Out of favour' Pietersen eyeing Kiwi tour for England return

London , Sat, 22 Sep 2012 ANI

London, Sep 22(ANI): Controversial England batsman Kevin Pietersen has claimed on his Twitter account that he is hoping to make a return to the Test squad for their New Zealand tour.

The England outcast, who is in Sri Lanka as a TV pundit, made his claim during a Twitter exchange with legendary New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter.

Carter had written on Twitter that his cricket bat had broken.

"Hoping all sorted and that I'm on the NZ tour in Feb. If so I will bring you a gun of a bat!" the Sun quoted Pietersen, as tweeting in reply to Carter's tweet.

England go on board for a seven-week tour of New Zealand, featuring three Tests, three one-dayer matches and three Twenty20s immediately after five ODIs in India.

Pietersen has not played for England since sending derogatory texts about ex-captain Andrew Strauss to the South African team this summer, and has been omitted for the four-Test tour of India. (ANI)
