Jaipur, Sep 4 (IANS) A 30-year-old taxi driver was arrested Tuesday for allegedly molesting a French tourist in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, police said.
The 35-year-old woman, whose name is being withheld, was molested Aug 8 at a hotel in Mandawa town, some 200 km from here.
"She came to Jaipur in the first week of August from France and came in contact with driver Zakir Ali Khan," Mandawa police station in-charge B.S. Chahar said.
Khan took her to Mandawa from Jaipur on the pretext of showing her some heritage buildings.
"The woman alleged that they stayed in a hotel where he molested her and attempted to rape her. She also says that he stole Rs.3,000 from her purse and disappeared," said the officer.
"After the victim lodged a complaint with police, we started a search for Khan. We found him in Jaipur."
